The story
On August 17, 2004, in a small 9m² office, Daniela Bertolucci, passionate about Foreign Trade and recognizing great market opportunities, founded Berto. The company’s early operations focused on exporting Brazilian products to international markets. Specializing in the FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) food sector, Berto concentrated on market prospecting for snacks, biscuits, chocolates, confectionery, and sweets from globally renowned brands.
With rapid growth and a forward-thinking vision, in 2006, Marcio Gonçalves was invited to join Berto as Managing Partner.
We began representing companies in the international market and developing private-label projects. This year also marked the establishment of our first physical location in Lajeado/RS. Thanks to the expertise of its managers in Foreign Trade and manufacturing processes, the company was recognized by its clients as the central office for private-label and global sourcing project development.
Our first independent export took place, establishing us as an export trading company, with a strong reputation in food and footwear exports through the development of customized projects.
The year 2015 was highlighted by the opening of our branch in Itajaí/SC, a strategic location close to the ports of Navegantes (20 km) and Itajaí (6 km), serving as a key distribution hub for cargo across the country.
Recognizing the need to evolve into a specialized Foreign Trade company, in 2017, we expanded our expertise to include the import and distribution of products, focusing on sweets and snacks for the Brazilian retail market.
Launch of our new Visual Identity. With over 18 years of history, we are now present in 45 countries across five continents, operating in two key areas: Foreign Trade and Distribution. With a long-term commitment to sustainable and profitable growth, we continue investing in people, technology, finance, and the market. Our Administrative, Commercial, and Foreign Trade Headquarters is based in Lajeado/RS, while our Distribution and Operations Center is located in Itajaí/SC.
New IdentityIn partnership with Mondeléz Brazil, we were named the Official Distributor of the premium Milka chocolate line. The partnership reinforces our commitment, service, and customer experience, serving as the link connecting us with our partners.
Audited twice by Bureau Veritas, with no non-conformities in adequacy and processes, in compliance with Mondelez Brazil’s quality policies and guidelines. Recognized through The Bravos Program by Mondeléz Brazil, acknowledging and celebrating the partnership between the manufacturer and the official distributor.
